Reception Theory Homework

The Dominant Position

The Message within the video may be very clear to the reader therefore the audience may take the dominant side, this means they would enjoy the text more. This may mean that the audience could relate to it more as they could be experience similar incidents if they are of a similar age. Also if the genre of the film is one that is popular with the audience they will enjoy it because they like that specific genre of film.

Take the oppositional position;
The audience may take the oppositional side because the audience may disagree with the messages that are presented in the video. Another reason may be because the audience didnt like the genre of the video. Another reason could be because they are not the same age as the characters so they cannot relate to the activities that happen in the video.

Take the negotiated position;
The audience may take the negotiated position because they may like the genre be the same age. However the messages in the video are to complex for them to understand so they cannot follow the video.
